Arjo Atayde, Dean Asistio seek executive session in ICI probe
Quezon City District Representative Arjo Atayde and Caloocan Representative Dean Asistio are expected to attend the hearing of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on anomalous flood control projects on Tuesday.
Based on a media advisory shared by the commission, Atayde and Asistio both requested executive sessions for their testimonies.
This came after the ICI recently released the guidelines for the livestream of its hearings.
ICI spokesperson Brian Hosaka previously stated that all proceedings would be livestreamed, except in cases where executive sessions are necessary.
Under the guidelines, the ICI may conduct executive sessions upon the request of government agencies, offices, or units; resource persons; and witnesses.
“The ICI may grant such request if it determines that the same is meritorious with sufficient factual and legal bases and not intended to delay or frustrate the mandate of the ICI,” the guidelines read. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
