LTO warns public vs fake news on supposed changes in LTO rules

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday warned the public against fake social media posts on supposed changes in the agency’s policies, such as rules on driver’s licenses.

In a Facebook post, the LTO categorically said such social media posts are fake and did not come from the agency.

The statement was accompanied by an example of a fake social media post, which claimed that there will be drastic changes in rules governing driver’s licenses.

(There are messages spreading across platforms that are mistakenly believed to be from the Land Transportation Office. There is no truth to these messages and these are not issued by the LTO.)

The LTO reminded Filipinos not to easily believe or share any information that they are not sure of, and to verify if such information came from the LTO’s official social media accounts.
