NAIA hits record high 52M passenger volume in 2025
The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) posted its highest annual passenger traffic in 2025 with 52.02 million passengers, the New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNIC) reported on Thursday.
“December was the busiest month in NAIA’s history, with 4.86 million passengers. International travelers accounted for 2.367 million of the total, a monthly high, while domestic passengers reached 2.495 million, the second-largest monthly volume recorded,” NNIC said in a statement.
“The figures represent total airport activity across domestic, outbound and returning Filipino travel, business travel, and connecting traffic,” it added.
The NNIC noted that the NAIA’s operations remained stable during peak travel periods.
It also highlighted recent improvements like the rollout of the new biometric immigration e-gates and upgraded passenger processing systems and terminal facilities that supported the NAIA’s operations over the holidays.
“Managing higher passenger volumes requires both infrastructure and close coordination,” the NNIC said. “The focus has been on improving flow, reducing bottlenecks, and ensuring the airport can handle peak demand more effectively.”
Under a public-private partnership, the NNIC is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and modernization of the NAIA as the country’s primary aviation hub, while ownership remains with the government. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
