Razon leads RP delegation to 28th Aseanapol conference in Brunei
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Dir. Gen. Avelino Razon Jr on Sunday led the PNP delegation to the 28th Asean Chiefs of Police (Aseanapol) conference in Brunei Darussalam. The PNP delegation left Manila Sunday morning for the 4-day conference in the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan hosted by the Royal Brunei Police Force. Heads of the national police forces from the ten Asean-member states – Brunei Sarussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Socialist Republic of Vietnam – will attend the conference with observers from the Australian Federal Police, New Zealand Police, China and Timor Leste. High in the agenda of the annual Asean police conference are issues on transnational crime, including trafficking in illegal drugs, gun smuggling, human trafficking, commercial fraud, counterfeiting, piracy and terrorism. “The PNP is honored to represent the country in this annual conference of Asean police forces as a gesture of out firm commitment to the Asean community of nations,” Razon said. The other members of the PNP delegation are: Deputy Dir. Gen. Jesus Versoza, deputy chief for Administration Dir. Dante Ferrer; director for Intelligence; Dir. Jefferson Soriano, dir for Investigation and Detective Management, Dir. German Doria, director for Human Resource and Doctirne Devt; Dir. Romeo Ricardo, director for Plans; and Dir. Eliseo dela Paz, director for Comptrollership. The PNP delegation will present before the Aseanapol assembly a country paper on transnational crime and terrorism issues, including current cooperative arrangements with other Aseanapol and Asia-Pacific police forces. - GMANews.TV
