NBI has leads on Atong Ang’s alleged last location

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has leads on the alleged last location of businessman Atong Ang, according to bureau spokesperson Palmar Mallari.

“We have, actually, addresses where supposedly some of the accused and even Charlie “Atong” Ang were supposedly last seen,” Mallari said in a briefing on Thursday.

A regional trial court in Sta. Cruz, Laguna has issued arrest warrants against Ang and others over multiple counts of kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping and serious illegal detention.

Mallari also said that they are confident that Ang is still in the country.

“Walang information na nakaalis na siya. And that is being reinforced by the statements and the records of the Bureau of Immigration… information from reliable sources na hindi pa nakakalis,” Deputy Director for Operations Jose Justo Yap said.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) started implementing the arrest warrant on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group has requested the issuance of an Interpol red notice against Ang.

An Interpol red notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person who is wanted by a requesting member country or an international tribunal pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.
