Wages is top national concern of Pinoys in Q4 2025 —OCTA

The top national concern of adult Filipinos is workers' wages or salaries, according to the latest Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by OCTA Research. 

Forty-five percent of respondents overall cited improving or increasing workers’ wages and salaries as their top national concern, the 4th quarter 2025 survey revealed.

Per area, 47% of respondents in Balance Luzon, 47% in Visayas, 42% in Mindanao, and 41% in the National Capital Region (NCR) said the Marcos administration must act on improving or increasing wages or salaries of workers.

"The share of adult Filipinos citing improving or increasing workers’ wages as an urgent national concern rose sharply in the Fourth Quarter (Q4) of 2025, marking its steepest increase since March 2024," OCTA said.

The other national concerns among Filipinos, as revealed in the survey, are as follows:

• controlling the increase in prices of basic goods: 41%
• access to affordable food like rice, vegetable, and meat: 30%
• fighting graft and corruption in government: 29%
• providing free quality education: 28%

Personal concerns

Meanwhile, health is the top urgent personal concern for adult Filipinos, the OCTA survey revealed.

Sixty-five percent of respondents overall answered "to stay healthy and avoid illnesses" as their top urgent personal concern.

This concern was followed by:

• to finish schooling or be able to provide schooling for our children: 45%
• at least be able to have enough to eat every day: 44%
• to have a secure and well-paying job or source of income: 39%
• to avoid being a victim of any serious crime: 38%

By socioeconomic class, staying healthy is the top concern among 81% of respondents in Class ABC, 66% in Class D, and 71% in Class E.

The survey was conducted from December 3 to 11, 2025 via face-to-face interviews among 1,200 respondents. 

The survey margin of error is ±3% at a 95% confidence level. "Subnational estimates for the geographic areas covered in the survey have the following margins of error at a 95% confidence level: ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao," OCTA said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
