OCTA: 76% of Filipino adults trust PH Air Force

About 76% of adult Filipinos have expressed trust in the Philippine Air Force (PAF), with the ratings being highest in the Visayas and Mindanao, according to a survey from OCTA Research released Monday.

Based on the survey which was conducted from December 3 to 11, 2025, the country’s Air Force enjoyed a “highly favorable public perception” with 76% of adult Filipinos trusting them and only 6% expressing distrust. This resulted in a net trust rating of +70.

Across major areas, trust in the PAF was highest in the Visayas and Mindanao, both recording trust ratings of 80%. The National Capital Region (NCR), meanwhile, showed the lowest trust level at 68%. 

At the regional level, trust in the PAF was considered “exceptionally high” in certain areas, including the Negros Island Region and the Bicol Region (both at 94%), SOCCSKSARGEN (93%), BARMM and Western Visayas (88%), and MIMAROPA (85%). 

Adult Filipinos in rural areas (81%) also showed higher trust in the PAF, as compared to those in urban areas (73%).

In terms of socioeconomic class, trust was the strongest among Class E respondents (86%), while the lowest trust rating was among Class D (75%). 

The survey also revealed that 74% of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of the PAF, while only 6% expressed dissatisfaction, resulting in a net performance rating of +68. 

Satisfaction levels were highest in Balance Luzon (76%), Mindanao (75%), and the Visayas (75%). Meanwhile, the NCR had the lowest satisfaction rating at 62%. 

By socioeconomic class, satisfaction was strongest among Class E respondents (80%), and the lowest satisfaction level was logged among Class ABC (69%). 

The OCTA survey, which used face-to-face interviews, was based on a sample of 1,200 male and female probability respondents aged 18 and above. 

It has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level. Subnational estimates for the geographic areas had the following margins of error at a 95% confidence level: ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
