Senate suspends work on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026

Work at the Senate is suspended on Monday, February 16, 2026, following the directive of Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Based on an advisory signed by Senate Secretary Mark Llandro “Dong” Mendoza, regular office operations in the chamber will resume on Wednesday, February 18.

February 17, Tuesday, is a special non-working day due to the observance of the Chinese New Year.

Personnel from the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and the Maintenance and General Services Bureau who are on shifting schedules are expected to report to work.

“All personnel are reminded to unplug electrical equipment and appliances before leaving their offices to help prevent any untoward incidents," the advisory read. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
