Bam Aquino won’t run for VP in 2028 elections

Senator Bam Aquino on Thursday said he will not run for Vice President in the 2028 national elections.

“I will not run for Vice President in 2028,” Aquino said in a post on Facebook, in response to a comment which floated if he will be Vice President Sara Duterte’s running mate in the upcoming polls.

On Wednesday, Duterte formally announced her plans to run for President in the 2028 elections.

Aquino is among those being eyed for higher posts in the upcoming polls.

Earlier, Senator Risa Hontiveros said the opposition may announce its presidential candidate for the 2028 national elections by the end of this year or by early 2027. 

Hontiveros also said she is open to running for President or even Vice President in the 2028 elections if that is what the united opposition would agree upon. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
