MEETING WITH LENI

Marcos: Political differences shouldn't prevent people from working together

Days after meeting with former political rival Leni Robredo, President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. said political differences should never hinder people from working for the country.

''Differences in politics should never prevent us from working together for our people," Marcos said in a social media post where he shared a clip of his interview with the media in Naga City.

''Nation first. Personal agendas later,'' the President added.

In the said interview, Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo was beside him.

In a separate post, Marcos captioned it with ''Serve first. Argue later. Less noise. More nation-building.''

Marcos maintained that his meeting with former Vice President Robredo was part of public service, not politics.

Rumors had surfaced that Robredo was being considered to run for the presidency in 2028 to face Vice President Sara Duterte, who has already announced her presidential bid.

Marcos said the most political thing he did in his Naga visit was wearing his pink socks ''in honor of Mayor Leni."
