Senate ethics panel to hold executive session on Mar. 4 —Ejercito

The Senate committee on ethics and privileges is set to conduct an executive session next Wednesday, March 4, to kickstart the vetting of the complaints lodged before the panel, Senator JV Ejercito said Thursday.

Ejercito, chairman of the panel, said that due to unavailability of committee rooms, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III instead authorized the use of Senate President l’s Conference Room on March 4 at 10 a.m. “to expedite the meeting as soon as possible.”

“Executive Session among members agenda is adoption of rules and we will proceed to initial vetting of cases,” he told reporters.

Ejercito has repeatedly said that the committee will hear complaints based on the order they were filed.

“Of course, just like in any proseso, first in, first out. Hindi naman pwedeng gusto nila mauna ‘yung isa, pwedeng unahin. So first in, first out. Kung ano ‘yung unang nai-file, then we will hear that first,” Ejercito said in an ambush interview on Wednesday.

(Of course, just like in any process, it’s first in, first out. We can’t hear whatever they want to go first. It’s first in, first out. Whatever was filed first, then we will hear that first.)

This, as a new complaint was filed before the committee this time against Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa over his continued absence in the Senate.

Ejercito said the complaint filed against Dela Rosa was the sixth pending before the committee. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
