South Korean President Lee Jae Myung arrives in PH

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and First Lady Kim Hea Kyung arrived in Manila on Tuesday afternoon, March 3, following an invitation by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

The South Korean leader and his first lady will stay in the country for a two-day state visit until March 4.

Malacañang earlier said that Marcos and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos are expected to officially welcome Lee and South Korean First Lady Lim Hea Kyung at the Palace.

Lee’s visit to the country will coincide with the 77th anniversary of the founding of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and South Korea in March 1949.

The Palace earlier said that the two leaders are expected to discuss views on regional and international issues and reaffirm the relations between Manila and Seoul.

Marcos invited Lee last year to visit the Philippines, saying that it would be a real opportunity for both of them “to promote a rules-based order, a more secure and more prosperous region.” —Vince Angelo Ferreras/AOL, GMA Integrated News
