Marcos on Maundy Thursday: ‘Leadership begins with service’

As the Catholic faithful commemorate Maundy Thursday, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said the holy day is a reminder for leaders to put the needs of other people before their own.

“On this Holy Thursday, we are reminded that leadership begins with service. Caring for others and putting their needs before our own,” the President said in a social media post.

“May we carry this spirit with us in all that we do,” he added.

Marcos also wished the Catholics a blessed and meaningful Holy Thursday.

Holy Thursday, also known as Maundy Thursday, is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, where he instituted the sacrament of Holy Communion before he was arrested and later on put to death by crucifixion. —AOL, GMA News
