Sara Duterte belies sending 'prizes' through e-wallets

Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday refuted social media posts alleging she and her family are giving away prizes through digital wallets and other platforms. 

In an advisory, Duterte cautioned against some social media groups that were created to proliferate the supposed scam. 

“Ikinababahala natin ang patuloy na paglaganap ng mga social media groups tulad ng Duterte Legacy na nagpapakalat na ako at ang aking pamilya ay nagbibigay ng mga papremyo,” she said.

(We are concerned about the continued proliferation of social media groups like Duterte Legacy that are spreading word that me and my family are giving away prizes.)

“Ang Tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo, at maging ako man, ay hindi nagbibigay ng mga papremyo sa mobile e-wallet o anumang platform,” she added. 

(The Office of the Vice President nor I give out prizes on mobile e-wallets or any other platforms.) 

Duterte advised the public not to believe such posts and  to avoid providing information that scammers could use in their activities. — Giselle Ombay/RSJ, GMA News
