Vice President Sara Duterte did not declare any cash on hand and bank deposit since 2019, her Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) submitted with the Office of the Ombudsman showed.

During the House justice committee hearing on the impeachment complaints against Duterte on Wednesday, Manila 2nd District Rep. Joel Chua examined Duterte’s SALN declarations from 2007 to 2024.

Duterte and her husband, Atty. Manases "Mans" Carpio has a total net worth P55 million in 2019. It grew to P56 million in 2020; P65 million in 2021; P71 million in 2022; P77 million in 2023; P88 million in 2024; and sans cash on hand and deposits.

“Sa madaling salita ang kaniyang cash na dineclare was only from 2007 to 2018…Noong 2019-2024, kahit singko wala silang dineclare na cash on hand,” Chua said.

(In other words, she only declared cash on hand and deposit from 2007 to 2018. None from 2019 to 2024.)

Atty. Karen Batu, SALN custodian of the Office of the Ombudsman, said: “Based on the submitted SALNs, walang nakalagay na cash on hand or deposit (Based on the submitted SALNs, there was none).”

The lawmaker asked Batu again to confirm, to which the latter replied in the affirmative.

"Kahit singko po? E 'di wow," Chua said.
