PNP relieves 11 Pangasinan cops from posts, reshuffles 6 senior officers
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said 11 cops in Pangasinan were relieved from their posts amid a performance review, while six senior officers were moved to different positions due to retirements.
At a press briefing, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño said 11 police personnel from the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, including the provincial director and local police chiefs, were relieved from their posts.
The relieved police officers were identified as:
- Police Colonel Arbel Castro Mercullo
- Police Lieutenant Colonel Jessie Dacus Balinang
- Police Lieutenant Colonel Quintin Tomelden Casabar Jr.
- Police Lieutenant Colonel Zaldy Curbi Fuentes
- Police Lieutenant Colonel Arvin Gomez Jacob
- Police Lieutenant Colonel Norman Tabaldo Rañon
- Police Major Noel Dela Cruz Cabacungan
- Police Major Ramsey Balisong Ganaban
- Police Major Peter Paul Valerio Sison
- Police Captain Benedict Campos Espinoza
- Police Captain Christopher Pajatin Nacional
Earlier this month, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) raided alleged illegal gambling dens across the province and arrested about 150 people, including a village chairman and a former municipal councilor.
The PNP is conducting administrative, operational, and performance reviews of its personnel because of the incident.
GMA News Online reached out to the Pangasinan police for comment on the matter.
6 senior officers
Meanwhile, Tuaño said the movement of six senior officers was due to the retirement of two officials.
Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) chief Police Major General Constancio Chinayog has retired from service.
Due to this, Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) head Police Brigadier General Jaysen de Guzman is the new acting director of the DPRM.
Replacing De Guzman, Headquarters Support Service (HSS) director Police Brigadier General Christopher Abecia took over the PRO BAR.
Police Brigadier General Manuel Abrugena from the Office of the Chief PNP (OCPNP) now serves as the HSS chief, replacing Abecia.
Meanwhile, Directorate for Research and Development (DRD) head Police Brigadier General Kirby John Kraft has also retired from the service.
Due to this, Police Regional Office 2 (PRO 2) chief Police Brigadier General Antonio Marallag Jr. is the new head of the DRD.
Replacing Marallag, Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) deputy regional director for administration Police Brigadier General Mariano Rodriguez is assigned acting director of PRO 2.
Police Colonel Harry Domingo from the OCPNP replaced Rodriguez as the PRO 11 deputy regional director for administration. —AOL, GMA News
