Where is Bato dela Rosa? What we know so far
Hours after a shooting incident that triggered panic in the Senate, Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa left the chamber, where he was seeking protective custody, early Thursday morning.
A senator confirmed that Dela Rosa left the Senate at around 2:30 a.m. He cited information from a Senate secretariat staff.
Malacanang said it is still verifying reports.
Lawyers Israelito Torreon and Jimmy Bondoc, legal counsels of Dela Rosa, refused to comment whether or not their client is still at the Senate.
GMA News Online tried to visit Dela Rosa's office but was blocked by the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.
Dela Rosa was last seen with his staff as they boarded an elevator on 5 p.m., Wednesday. He came from the office of Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano.
In a photo released by the Senate majority, Dela Rosa, as well as Senators Robin Padilla and Rodante Marcoleta were not seen in the caucus following the adjournment of the session.
At around 9:40 p.m., Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Dela Rosa was “safe” and with security personnel following the tension and lockdown at the Senate building.
On Facebook, Torreon posted photos with Dela Rosa in the Senate at around 12:45 a.m., Thursday.
At around 9:19 a.m., Thursday, Bondoc said the senator remains in the chamber.
“I will give you based on my personal knowledge na nandiyan pa siya [Bato], but since I’m still here outside, I cannot check. Pero as of last night nandiyan siya, nag-uusap kami,” Bondoc said in a tweet of GMA News' EJ Gomez.

PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño, in an interview on GMA News’ Unang Balita Thursday morning, said Dela Rosa was still inside the Senate building.
“Mismong si [PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.] na po ang nagsabi nang sila po ay umalis sa Senate po, mga halos mga alas dos na po ito, may dalawang senador na lang po ang naiwan doon sa Senate,” PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño said in an interview on GMA News’ Unang Balita.

On Wednesday, gunshots rang out at the Senate amid lockdown.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has denied that their agents were deployed at the Senate building It also said their officials are currently in a three-day fellowship event in a hotel.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. said that there was no instruction to arrest Dela Rosa, who is the subject of a warrant of arrest from the International Criminal Court in connection with the killings under the Duterte administration's war on drugs. —AOL, GMA News
