Ex-ICI exec Hosaka back as GCG commissioner

Brian Keith Hosaka, former executive director and spokesperson of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), has returned as commissioner of the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG).

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto administered Hosaka’s oath of office on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

In September 2025, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. named Hosaka as executive director of the ICI—the body that had earlier investigated alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

The ICI was only operational until March 31, 2026, after fulfilling its mandate for six months.

Prior to his ICI stint, Hosaka was already commissioner of the GCG—the central advisory, oversight, and monitoring body for the government-owned and controlled corporations sector.

He is also a former spokesperson of the Supreme Court.—AOL, GMA News
