PNP-CIDG orders more Senate personnel to appear in shooting incident probe
More personnel from the Senate were to appear before the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Wednesday, May 20, in connection with the shooting incident that took place inside the Senate complex on May 13.
According to a report on "Saksi," those served with subpoenas included Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) Officer-in-Charge Manuel Parlade, a CCTV operator, and other OSAA personnel.
Parlade was designated as officer-in-charge following the suspension of acting Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca after the shooting incident at the Senate.
Earlier on Tuesday, the CIDG also issued subpoenas to former Senate Secretary Mark Llandro Mendoza, suspended acting Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca, and several other OSAA personnel as part of the ongoing investigation.
According to the CIDG, some of those summoned appeared before investigators on Tuesday, although authorities declined to provide further details regarding the proceedings.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government earlier said that Aplasca failed to appear before investigators. Meanwhile, authorities continue to review CCTV footage and other evidence related to the Senate shooting incident. —LDF, GMA News
