Sara Duterte's net satisfaction rating rose slightly in March 2026 - SWS

Vice President Sara Duterte’s net satisfaction rating increased marginally in March 2026 amid the impeachment proceedings against her in the House of Representatives, according to a new survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The SWS survey was conducted from March 24 to 31, 2026, coinciding with the start of the formal hearings on the impeachment complaints before the House Committee on Justice.

The poll found that 54% of Filipinos were satisfied with the Vice President's performance, 25% were dissatisfied, and 21% were undecided.

Her net satisfaction rating (% satisfied minus % dissatisfied) now stands at a moderate +29, slightly higher than the +28 recorded in November 2025.

"The 1-point increase in Vice President Duterte’s net satisfaction rating from November 2025 to March 2026 was due to increases in Mindanao and Metro Manila, combined with decreases in the Visayas and Balance Luzon," SWS said.

Duterte’s net satisfaction rating was highest in Mindanao at an excellent +82, followed by the Visayas at a good +36, Metro Manila at a neutral +5, and Balance Luzon at a neutral +5.

In rural areas, Duterte’s net satisfaction rating barely moved, rising from +35 to +36. In urban areas, it improved by 2 points, from +21 to +23.

SWS also said that Duterte's net satisfaction rating among those aged 18 to 24 declined by 16 points, from +49 to +33.

Meanwhile, her net satisfaction rating among college graduates fell by 21 points, from +18 to -3, dropping from moderate to neutral.

Sotto, Dy, Gesmundo

SWS also disclosed the net satisfaction ratings of former Senate President Vicente Sotto III, House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.

Sotto's net satisfaction rating stood at +15 (moderate), down by one point from November 2025.

"The 1-point decline in Senate President Sotto’s net satisfaction rating from November 2025 to March 2026 was due to an increase in Mindanao, combined with slight decreases in Balance Luzon and the Visayas, and a steady score in Metro Manila," SWS said.

Dy also lost a point, slipping from +5 in November 2025 to +4 (neutral) in March 2026.

"The 1-point decline in Speaker Dy’s net satisfaction rating from November 2025 to March 2026 was due to a decline in Balance Luzon and a slight decline in Metro Manila, combined with slight increases in the Visayas and Mindanao," SWS said.

Gesmundo's net satisfaction rating remained unchanged at +9 (neutral).

"The steady net satisfaction rating of Chief Justice Gesmundo from November 2025 to March 2026 was due to an increase in Mindanao, combined with slight declines in Metro Manila and Balance Luzon, and a steady score in the Visayas," SWS said.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. received a net satisfaction rating of -15, a new record low, according to the same survey.

The non-commissioned survey involved face-to-face interviews with 1,500 adults nationwide: 600 in Balance Luzon (Luzon outside Metro Manila) and 300 each in Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The survey's margins of error were ±3% for national percentages, ±4% for Balance Luzon, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao. — VBL, GMA News
