Jinggoy Estrada to surrender at Camp Crame, DILG's Remulla says
Senator Jinggoy Estrada is expected to surrender to authorities at Camp Crame, Quezon City after the Sandiganbayan 5th Division issued an arrest warrant against him for plunder charge, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Monday.
In a message to reporters, Remulla said Estrada will surrender in the afternoon.
“He will surrender in Crame this afternoon,” Remulla said.
Earlier, the Sandiganbayan 5th Division issued a warrant of arrest against Estrada, who is facing ₱573‑million plunder and graft charges filed by the Office of the Ombudsman.
In a resolution dated June 1, 2026, the Fifth Division of the Sandiganbayan found probable cause for the issuance of warrants of arrest against the following:
- Senator Jinggoy Estrada
- former DPWH secretary Manuel Bonoan
- DPWH NCR Assistant District Engineer Denryl Caesar Sanchez Cortuna
- DPWH NCR District Engineer Manny Bumagat Bulusan
- DPWH NCR District Engineer Arturo Lombres Gonzales, Jr.
The court issued the arrest warrant despite motions filed by the Estrada’s legal counsel earlier in the day seeking to withhold the issuance of the warrant.
On Friday, the Sandiganbayan Second Division issued an arrest warrant against Estrada in a graft case over alleged kickbacks in flood control projects.
He posted a P90,000 bail for his provisional freedom and denied the allegations.
"Mariin kong itinatanggi ang mga paratang laban sa akin. Ang mga ito ay walang batayan at walang bahid ng katotohanan. I respect the rule of law and our judicial institutions, and this is precisely why I am posting bail and personally submitting myself to the jurisdiction of the Sandiganbayan," said Estrada.
