'Pacman' to begin training for rematch vs Morales

Fresh from his conquest over Mexican puncher Oscar Larios, 'people's champ' Manny Pacquiao vowed Monday that he would immediately begin training for his rematch with ring legend Erik "El Terible" Morales this November. Pacquiao made the announcement shortly before the confetti fell during the victory motorcade in Manila, which was staged as an expression of gratitude to local fans. Pacquiao told GMA 7's DZBB that he was raring to trade punches with Morales, who earlier claimed he was unhurt by his defeat to the Filipino fighter in January. "I'm training hard because I'm all fired up (gigil) against Morales. He said I did not hurt him last January, and that I owe him my popularity. I want to prepare hard so I can put an end to his career," Pacquiao said in Filipino. Morales, a Mexican boxer like Larios, suffered the most humiliating loss of his carrer on January 22 at the hands of Pacquiao. Morales' defeat was only the first time that he was stopped in a match. Pacquiao floored Morales in 10 rounds at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the win, Pacquiao avenged a bitter 12th round defeat against Morales some 10 months before. "I'll make this Morales' last challenge that he'll ever dangle against me. I leave it to God, I'll just train hard. I want him to suffer in our next fight," Pacquiao said. Unlike Morales, noted Pacquiao, Larios is courteous and among the most honorable boxers in and out of the ring. On Sunday, the 27-year-old Pacquiao won via unanimous decision against the 29-year-old Larios, who touched the canvas twice during the 12-round match at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. Meanwhile, cheering fans in Manila came in droves as the motorcade made its way from the Manila City Hall to the Binondo district. Pacquiao and his entourage were expected to make its way through Delpan, Tondo, Lacson Avenue, the Nagtahan Bridge, Sta. Mesa, Pandacan, A. Francisco Street and Onyx Streets in Sta. Ana and finally end the festivities at the Dagohoy Market.-GMANews.TV
