Marcos orders probe into Tacloban school shooting

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday ordered a thorough investigation into the shooting incident at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City which left three individuals dead.

In a message to reporters, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said that the President has given directions to ensure the safety of people in all establishments, especially in schools.

“Iniuutos ang malalimang pag-iimbestiga rito at pinapasiguro ang proteksyon at kaligtasan sa lahat ng lugar, opisina, establisyimento lalong lalo na sa mga paaralan,” Castro said.

(The President orders a thorough investigation into this matter and wants authorities to ensure protection and safety in all places, offices, establishments, especially schools.)

Castro also said that Marcos is saddened by the incident.

“Kinakalungkot ng Pangulo ang pangyayari. Kahit sino pa man lalo na ang mga magulang ng mga nabiktima ay makakaramdam ang lungkot at takot,” she added.

(The President is saddened by the incident. Anyone, especially the parents of the victims, will feel the sadness and fear.)

Aside from the three fatalities, five others were injured in the shooting.

Two minors allegedly involved in the shooting incident have been placed under police custody. —KG, GMA News
