PNP: No official notice on arrest warrant vs. Marcoleta
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it has yet to receive an official notice regarding an alleged arrest warrant issued against Senator Rodante Marcoleta.
“As of now the PNP has not received any official communication regarding said warrant,” PNP Information Chief and spokesperson Police Colonel Allen Rae Co said at a press briefing.
Marcoleta is facing plunder and bribery charges before the Office of the Ombudsman for receiving P75 million in campaign donations last year.
Meanwhile, Co said that the PNP is ready to implement this.
“Just like any other warrant po, once we receive a warrant, just like any other warrant from competent authorities, we will execute and we will implement,” he said.
“So far wala pa (there’s nothing yet),” he added.
Marcoleta earlier said the plunder complaint against him was meant to silence him from speaking about the flood control anomalies and ahead of the impeachment trial of his ally, Vice President Sara Duterte. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA News
