Castro on Sara Duterte 'bloodied' remark: She wants bloodbath

It is Vice President Sara Duterte who wants a bloodbath, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said Wednesday.

“Feeling niya na bloodbath ito at alam naman natin na ito ang kaniyang hiniling. Siya mismo ang nagnanais ng isang bloodbath,” Castro said in a briefing.

(She feels that this is a bloodbath, and we all know that this is what she wanted. She herself wished for a bloodbath.)

Castro issued the remark a day after Duterte said she will be “bloodied but unbowed” in this “bloodbath and bludgeoning,” referring to her impeachment trial.

She also said that the Vice President did not address the allegations against her.

When asked if Malacañang agreed with Duterte’s remark that the trial will be bloody, Castro said it will be bloody if the truth does not come out.

“Kung iyon po ang kaniyang iniisip at kaniyang opinyon ay hindi naman natin siya mapapahinto sa kaniyang pagsasalita patungkol dito,” she said.

(If that is what she thinks and that is her opinion, we cannot stop her from expressing it.)

“At magiging madugo talaga ‘to kung hindi makikita ng taumbayan ang katotohanan at iyan naman ang hinahanap ng ating mga kababayan– malaman kung ano ba talaga ang mga katotohanan sa mga ibinabato sa kaniya,” she added.

(And this will indeed be bloody if the public does not see the truth, and that is precisely what our fellow Filipinos are looking for—to find out what the truth really is behind the allegations being thrown at her.) —AOL, GMA News
