Robin Padilla visits Rodante Marcoleta at PNP General Hospital

Senator Robin Padilla on Thursday visited Senator Rodante Marcoleta at the Philippine National Police General Hospital, where the latter is undergoing laboratory tests to determine his fitness before being committed to a jail facility.

Padilla arrived past 2 p.m., Super Radyo dzBB's Glen Juego reported. He added that visitors are allowed at PNPGH until 3 p.m.

In a separate report, GMA News' Jun Veneracion said Marcoleta's latest laboratory test showed that he has a high level of bad cholesterol.

The report said that according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Benaly Bayani, chief of PNPGH's Internal Medicine Department, said it would be better for Marcoleta to be isolated from other patients since he is also being treated for mild pneumonia.

Bayani said the result of Marcoleta's 2D echo test, which will show his heart's condition, is still pending.

The senator was also diagnosed with a cervical spine problem and mild pneumonia, among others.

Marcoleta is facing a P75 million plunder case over alleged undeclared campaign donations. The Sandiganbayan Third Division on Monday ordered the senator's arrest and that of three others.—AOL, GMA News
