Sara Duterte leaves for The Hague as impeachment trial enters third week
Vice President Sara Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, as her impeachment trial enters its third week.
According to a "24 Oras" report on Tuesday, Duterte’s defense team has already informed her of the Senate impeachment court’s decision to subpoena her financial records, as well as the records of her husband, Manases Carpio.
The defense team’s spokesperson Michael Poa said that Duterte replied by saying "okay, you know what to do naman."
It was also Poa who confirmed that Duterte is in The Hague.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) earlier announced that Duterte was out of the country from July 16 to July 31. The office stated that no public funds were used to fund her travels across Europe.
The OVP said that Duterte will engage with overseas Filipinos.
The Palace also confirmed that Duterte has been granted travel authority for personal trips to Qatar, Germany, the UK, and Northern Ireland.
The vice president has visited The Hague multiple times following the arrest and detention of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, by the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity. —Jean Mangaluz/LDF, GMA News
