Aside from the risk of leptospirosis and other hazards associated with floodwaters, there is also the possibility of encountering animals swimming in the flood—such as a large python.

A "Youscooper" in Olongapo City captured footage of a long python swimming through deep floodwaters outside some houses.

In a report by GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon this Monday, Youscooper John Marlon Licopit said that he spotted the reptile on Saturday in Barangay Sta. Rita.

In the video, some residents can be heard screaming upon seeing the swimming python, which appeared to be searching for shelter.

Certain areas of the city experienced unusually high floodwaters due to incessant rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), compounded by a high tide.

Licopit said he did not know where the python eventually went. —RF, GMA News
