7-year old child among 3 persons hurt in shooting sparked by parking dispute

A dispute over a vehicle parked on the roadside in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, escalated into a shooting incident that led to three people, including a seven-year-old child, being wounded.

A report by GMA Regional TV *Ratsada Balita* on Monday said the incident occurred in Barangay Dos. Police said it stemmed from a vehicle parked on the side of the road that the suspect wanted moved so he could pass.

However, a heated argument ensued between the parties, leading the suspect to draw a gun and open fire. The victims—who were relatives—were hit and later taken to a hospital.

"Based on our investigation, the incident began with a vehicle parked on the roadside. The suspect asked that the victim's vehicle be moved slightly. However, it appears an exchange of cursing took place," said Police Lt. Col. Jovil Sedel, chief of the Hinigaran Municipal Police Station. –RF/GMA News
