Ash emission was observed from Kanlaon Volcano early Wednesday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The emission occurred at 6:02 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

"The event generated a grayish plume that rose 500 meters above the summit crater before drifting northeast, as visually recorded by the Canlaon City Observation Station (KVO-CC)," PHIVOLCS reported.

The agency added that Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano. — BAP, GMA News
