3 killed in Bataan road mishap - report


MANILA, Philippines - Three people were reported killed while several others were injured in a road mishap in Limay, Bataan involving two cars and a tanker, radio dzBB reported Thursday. In an interview with radio dzBB, Bataan police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan said operations are still ongoing to rescue those injured in the accident while work is underway to secure the tanker. A separate radio report, however, said only two were killed while 13 others were hurt in the accident. Radio dzRH said the accident took place along the highway between Limay and Lamao in Bataan at 3:30 p.m. Those injured were initially identified as Elenita Sotto, 52, of Mariveles; Kiko Doblon of Pilar town; Genalyn Paiding, 16; Juvelyn Marquez, 19; Mario Amora, 38; Rajir Sadon, 31; Ramil Dazon, 7; Elecio Alaya, 50; Jose Garcia, 51; and Ryan Abojeda, 11. Initial investigation showed a tanker truck went out of control and hit a sedan, which in turn hit the minibus. The minibus then hit a motorcycle.- Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
