12 missing La Union fishermen found

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines - All 26 fishermen from Agoo, La Union, who were reported missing at the height of typhoon “Frank," have all been accounted for, police said Thursday. The last 12 were found off San Vicente in Ilocos Sur Thursday, police said. The fishermen were identified as Michael Garcia, Salvador Sup-supen, Roberto Eslao, Amado Fangonilo, Fernan Hugo, Bobby Ofiana, Andy Domondon, Pepito Albay, Boy Estacio, Sixto Gualberto, Erwin Cachuela and their leader, Nomer Garcia. Police said the 12 were on a boat when local fishers spotted them. The 12, along with 14 other fishermen, left Agoo in four bancas last Friday evening. On Sunday, they failed to return home and their relatives reported them as missing. Three were found in Agoo last Monday and 11 more last Tuesday in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur. The survivors said that they were losing hope after rescuers on a helicopter failed to see them. The 12 were brought to the San Vicente District Hospital for treatment. - GMANews.TV
