Transco vows to energize new Bacolod City Government Center

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The National Transmission Corp. (Transco) has informed Bacolod Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia that it is ready to provide electricity to the new Bacolod City Government Center. City Administrator Roger Balo said Generoso M. Sernal, Transco assistant vice-president, told the mayor that end-users should first seek the approval of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). He added the city government would have to provide and install the equipment to connect directly to Transco facilities based on the ERC-approved 2006 open access transmission service rules. The rules state that "end-users shall be financially responsible for all the costs associated with the procurement and installation of connection assets." - BusinessWorld
