Korean student charged with illegal gun possession in Baguio


BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A Korean student has been charged with illegal possession of firearms in this northern resort city after he was caught with a gun without any supporting documents, police said on Wednesday. James Kim, 24, a native of Seoul, South Korea, and currently residing at in Kayang St., was caught with the gun on the wee hours of Sunday as he was partying the night away .at Nevada Square, a popular party district in the city. Police said Kim was caught in possession a cal.-45 pistol with nine rounds of ammunitions. He was detained at the Baguio City Jail. Koreans account for the bulk of foreign students in Baguio, peaking up to 10,000 during summer when they come to the Philippines to study English in three to six months durations. - GMANews.TV
