BusinessWorld: Northern Mindanao’s LTFRB issues new fares effective Monday
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines â Like in other regions, the local office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved a new transport fare schedule effective Monday, July 14. Mandangan A. Darimbang, LTFRB director for Northern Mindanao, said that while the new fares will take effect next week, operators and drivers should secure a new fare matrix schedule for specific routes before charging passengers the new rates. Public utility jeepsâ minimum fare will be P7.50, from the current P7 for the first four kilometers. Two months ago, the franchising regulatory board approved a P0.50 increase of the minimum fare, which was then P6.50. For buses, an additional P1 will be charged for the first four kilometers. Taxicabs, meanwhile, will add P10 to the total fare as indicated on the meter. The new fares will apply in the entire region. â Geefe P. Alba, BusinessWorld
