Manny Pacquiao tours Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines - Boxing sensation Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao got on with his tour in Bacolod Friday after switching on the city’s newest traffic light at the corners of Hilado and Burgos streets.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Leonardia led the 'Pacman' in the tour to the New Government Center.

The Filipino boxing icon arrived in Bacolod on Thursday and was treated to a motorcade and a program in his honor at the city hall grounds.

Secretary to the Mayor Goldwyn Nifras also read Executive Order (EO) 26, declaring July 17, 2008 as the 'Manny Pacquiao Day' in the city, a plaque of which was personally handed by Leonardia to the Pacman, along with a Masskara mask as token.

Nifras also read EO 27, conferring to Pacquiao the title of 'Bugal sang Bacolod'. Certificates of appreciation were also given to Jinkee Pacquiao, Wakee Salud, Buboy Fernandez, Rey Golingan, Lito Camo and Cris Aquino. - Sun.Star Bacolod
