Cops hold 4 men for ‘robbing’ Ozamiz bishop
MANILA, Philippines - Police in Ozamiz City in Mindanao held for questioning Friday night at least four suspects linked to the holdup of a senior Catholic bishop. DZBB's Manny Vargas reported that the victim, Ozamiz archbishop Jesus Dosado, managed to identify Krit Valderias, one of the four suspects. The other three, who police said are still "for identification," were initially identified as Evo Lajay-lajay, Rolando Alimpus and Reynante Perez. Dosado was held up at 5 a.m. near the Ozamiz Cathedral. He said he lost P3,200 cash and a cell phone to the robbers. Authorities were not sure if Dosado would push charges against the robbers as the bishop had said he would just pray for their (suspectsâ) enlightenment. A separate statement on the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines website Friday night said police, mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and board member Ardot Parojinog recovered Dosado's wallet containing all important documents including Dosado's driver's license. But they failed to recover the P3,200 cash and the cell phone. "The wallet was found by a child inside a plastic floating near the seashore of Baybay Triumfo village," Parojinog said. Parojinog added they are conducting investigation on the robbery case. - GMANews.TV
