Batangas town vice mayor shot dead - report

MANILA, Philippines - The vice mayor of Mabini town in Batangas was shot dead Tuesday night by an unidentified gunman in Bauan town, a radio report said. Officer-on-duty SPO2 Victor Panganiban told dzBB radio that the victim, vice mayor Rowell Sandoval of Mabini town, was inside his RHIC call center when he was shot. "Pinag-aaralan namin ang motibo, maaring pulitika o negosyo ang pamamaril (We're studying the motive. It could be politics or business)," Panganiban said. Initial investigation showed the suspect, wearing denim shorts, a blue T-shirt and slippers, entered the building and shot Sandoval, 51, then escaped. He was last seen fleeing towards Camella homes in San Pascual in Batangas. - GMANews.TV
