Lightning strike kills farmer, hurt 7 others

MANILA, Philippines - A farmer was killed while seven others were hurt after lightning struck them in Magarao town in Camarines Sur province in Bicol, dzBB radio reported Wednesday. The report cited initially identified the fatality as Simeon Tolete of Santo Tomas village, who died before he could be brought to the Bicol Medical Center. Those hurt in the incident were Moises Tolete, Edgardo Daza, Dondon Campo, Edgardo Prado, Domingo Bolda, Rena Benavida and Raul Benavida, also of San Isidro village. The report said they suffered burns in different parts of the body. Magarao is a fifth-class town in Camarines Sur, with a population of 20,964 people in 3,910 households. - GMANews.TV
