Cake downs 8 kids in Iloilo - radio report

MANILA, Philippines - Eight students were rushed to the Iloilo Doctors’ hospital Tuesday afternoon after eating a cake believed to be already spoiled, a radio report said. A report over radio dzRH quoted a certain “Cheryl," the saleslady of an eatery in one of the city’s major mall, as saying that the kids returned the cake minutes after their purchase due to its foul smell and rotten taste. The saleslady added that the cake was no longer fresh as it was purchased days before. The report said two of the victims were immediately transferred by their families to another hospital in the said area. The city health office together with the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) are already testing the cake sample to verify if the poisoning was, indeed, caused by the said confectionary. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
