Fund lack prompts closure of 3 hospitals in Davao

MANILA, Philippines — Lack of fund has prompted three district hospitals in Davao del Sur province to close down, a radio report said on Friday. Radio dzBB's Davao affiliate reported that Davao del Sur Gov. Douglas Cagas submitted hospital plans to the Department of Health for the rehabilitation of the three hospitals. Cagas asked the DOH to act swiftly on the cases of the district hospitals in the towns of Don Marcelino, Sarangani and Matanao so they can resume normal operations. He also asked President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for the needed funding to get the hospitals back on their feet. - GMANews.TV
