Korean jumps to death in Pampanga

CAMP OLIVAS, Philippines – A Korean ended his life over the weekend by jumping off a bridge at the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway in Floridablanca, Pampanga, after an alleged marital spat. A police report said Du Jin Yoon, 55, suffered multiple fractures and a broken head as a result of the jump. He was recovered by the SCTEx emergency patrol unit. The report said Yoon and his wife, Choi Cho, were heading for Manila on board their blue Toyota Revo (WPT-827) when the incident happened. Yoon reportedly ordered his Filipino driver, Jayson Abrigo, to pull over at the middle of the Kaulaman Bridge along Kilometer 25 of the SCTEx. There, Yoon alighted, scaled the top of the bridge’s railings, and leaped. Yoon landed headfirst into the boulders, which was 100 feet from the top. SCTEx emergency team patrolling the expressway retrieved the body of Yoon and took him to the Romana Pangan Emergency Hospital in nearby Lubao town where he was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician. Information gathered by the police revealed that Yoon was a former sub-contractor at the Hanjin Heavy Metals Industries but was terminated after his project was completed. - Ashley Jay Manabat, GMANews.TV
