Misuari: MNLF forces now at 150K
DAVAO CITY, Philippines - The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) membership is growing by the day due to the government's delaying tactic in implementing the 1996 GRP-MNLF peace agreement and the collapse of the GRP-Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) peace talks. MNLF founding chair Nur Misuari said they started with barely 10,000 members and after more than three decades, they now having 150,000 forces. "When I signed the 1976 peace agreement in Tripoli, hardly 10,000 ang forces. When I signed the 1987 peace agreement with Cory, ang forces ng MNLF was just about 15,000-20,000 strong. When I signed the peace agreement in 1996, MNLF was 32,000 strong. Ngayon dahil sa delay, are now more than 150,000," he said.
