Adobo festival in Negros Occidental starts Nov. 4


MANILA, Philippines - The 11th Adobo Festival will kick off at the Balay Negrense Lifestyle Museum in Silay City in Negros Occidental from Tuesday to Wednesday. Online news site The News Today reported that the event dubbed "A Taste of History" will also feature the third Muscovado Competition. According to organizers of the event, these activities will be part of Silay's yearly Cinco de Noviembre celebration. On Tuesday, the event will kick off at 10 a.m. with the opening of the booths at the patio of the museum. An organic market, cookbooks, kitchen art and Cinco de Noviembre Memorabilia will be showcased. A talk on Filipino culinary traditions and a kitchen art workshop at the garage will highlight the first day. A pre-Adobo Party will be held still at the patio in the evening. On Wednesday, the Cinco de Noviembre Commemoration Ceremony and LGU and Amateur categories of the Adobo and Muscovado contests will be held at the patio. Culinary Schools will set up an Adobo Demo and Exhibition at the sala. - GMANews.TV
