Quirino village chief in councilman's slaying surrenders

DIFFUN, Quirino – A village chief has turned himself to the police after allegedly killing one of his close allies in a drinking spree here over the week. Barangay Captain Ruben Oria of Liwayway village also turned over the firearm he reportedly used in the fatal shooting of Councilman Dominador Guieb. Reports said that Oria and several other village officials were having a drink in the village when Guieb asked permission to leave. Sr. Inspector Jaime Peralta of the Diffun police disclosed that Oria who reportedly got irked when the victim refused his request to stay longer with the group, allegedly reached for a gun which was tucked in his waist. Guieb, however, managed to grapple with the suspect until the gun went off hitting the victim at the armpit which caused his death. Both the families of the victim and the suspect could not believe that such an incident could happen since the two were close allies. - GMANEws.TV
