Armed men pull off jewelry store heist in Cebu

MANILA, Philippines - At least six armed men succeeded in a daring jewelry store robbery inside a mall in Cebu City Tuesday afternoon, a radio report said. Radio dzBB's Cebu City affiliate reported that the unidentified men barged into the Golden Treasure Best of Jewelry display center at the third floor of Mango Square Mall at 3 p.m. Police recovered the white Nissan getaway vehicle used by the suspects (GEG-907). The vehicle had bloodstains, indicating some of the suspects may have been wounded. Cebu City police theft and robbery section head Sr. Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes said they are still interviewing the store owner and security personnel to see how much was lost from the store. He said they are also checking hospitals in the city to see if some of the suspects had sought treatment there. - GMANews.TV
