Predawn fire hits Iloilo school - report


MANILA, Philippines - Fire believed caused by an overheating appliance razed a public high school in Iloilo province before dawn Thursday. Radio dzXL reported that the fire destroyed three rooms of the Lambunao National High School in Lambunao town at about 3 a.m. The fire razed Rooms 40, 41, and 42 - all occupied by fourth-year high school students - and damaged the school's stockroom. Arson investigators said it was possible an overheating appliance started the fire, which spread quickly as the school structure was old. As of posting time, there were no reports of casualties. - GMANews.TV
