Predawn fire hits Iloilo school - report

MANILA, Philippines - Fire believed caused by an overheating appliance razed a public high school in Iloilo province before dawn Thursday. Radio dzXL reported that the fire destroyed three rooms of the Lambunao National High School in Lambunao town at about 3 a.m. The fire razed Rooms 40, 41, and 42 - all occupied by fourth-year high school students - and damaged the school's stockroom. Arson investigators said it was possible an overheating appliance started the fire, which spread quickly as the school structure was old.
