10 men posing as cops rob Laguna mall

MANILA, Philippines - At least 10 heavily armed men posing as policemen robbed a mall in Sta. Cruz town in Laguna province before dawn Monday. Radio dzRH reported that the men barged into the Sun Star Mall with M-16 rifles and cal.45 pistols. The robbers wore T-shirts with the word “Police" printed on the clothing. “The men entered the Sun Star Mall claiming to be policemen. They wore T-shirts with the word ‘Police’ printed on the shirts," Senior Inspector Edward Jimenez said in Filipino. He said the incident occurred at about 4 a.m., with the men entering the administration office and passing through several booths selling mobile phones. Initial investigation showed the men escaped after taking an undetermined amount of cash and several items inside the mall. Police did not immediately enter the mall for fear the suspects may have left a bomb or booby trap, the report said. - GMANews.TV
