Summer outing turns tragic in Cebu; 2 killed
MANILA, Philippines â A summer outing turned tragic as two people were killed and more than 20 passengers injured, after a minibus fell into a ravine in Cebu City Wednesday morning. Radio dzBB's Cebu affiliate reported the incident occurred at Busay village in Cebu City shortly after 8 a.m. Traffic authorities initially identified the fatalities as Margie Mabini and Jason Gabisay, 10. A separate report on dzXL radio said the bus (SHS-381) was a service vehicle of the local village, driven by Rufino Tumbiscado. It went out of control after its brakes failed. Radio reports varied on the number of persons injured, ranging from 20 to 45. The dzBB report said the passengers, members of the Legion of Mary, were going to a beach outing at Danao City when the tragedy occurred.
