P80M earmarked to repair bombed Iligan bridge

ILIGAN CITY, Philippines – The government has earmarked some P80 million for the repair of a bridge in the southern Philippine city of Iligan that were damaged by two bombing attacks last Monday. Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane, who personally visited Agus Bridge Thursday, said the repair would last for 30 to 45 days. Construction of a detour access bridge adjacent to the main portion of Agus Bridge, meanwhile, is ongoing, according to Ebdane. Ebdane said P30 million have already been initially released to start the repair. The twin bombings affected the economic activities of Iligan City and the rest of Northern Mindanao as the damaged structure has been closed to heavy traffic since Monday due to the bombing. - GMANews.TV
